Once again we have a case of the religious right trying to stifle free speech. They’ve started their attack on the atheist bus campaign.

Honestly… was anyone not expecting this to happen? Living in the south I can’t tell you how many depictions of religion I find all over the freaking place. I can’t walk down the street without being hit over the head with religious crap of one form or another, and some of it is extremely offensive. Bumper stickers that say stuff like, “Turn or burn” or something of the like.

It’s truly sad that people are so afraid of an opposing idea that they would seek to silence the individual. If what they’re spreading is so bad, debate them. Come up with your own ad campaign to counter theirs and point out to people why it’s bad.

You have not convinced me because you have silenced me!

On a side note, this is what we have to look forward to with the UN’s non-binding resoution regarding blasphemy.

I can think of so many other things in this world that could use our attention besides having to police what people believe.

It’s pathetic.

In case you haven't heard, the bigot beauty queen was allowed to keep her crown. Which I'm fine with actually. I think her personal views shouldn't have any impact on her title.

In case you haven’t heard, the bigot beauty queen was allowed to keep her crown. Which I’m fine with actually. I think her personal views shouldn’t have any impact on her title.

Having said that, she’s still a horrible human being. I don’t understand how people can’t see that her religious views have made her a bigot. The irony of the whole thing is that religious people are supposed to be kind and loving to everyone. They preach this, but then don’t live it.

Let’s call this like it is. This is a girl desperate for attention. Pathetically desperate for attention. She’s loving every single minute of her “persecution”. What’s even more sleezy is that N.O.M. exploited the crap out of this girl to further their agenda.

Getting emotional at times, Prejean slammed her critics, saying the backlash she received “should not happen in America,” and that it “undermines her constitutional rights” which her grandfather — who she said served under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge — fought for.

Are you serious? This is worse than when a politician kisses a baby, it’s sick. This is exploitation to it’s fullest. Not just of this mental midget but of her grandfather. If he were here, I bet he’d tell her to stop being a puppet for a bigoted group.

Still, she said that she forgave those who had spoken out against her over the past weeks.

“My faith requires forgiveness,” she said. “So I forgive everyone.”

Here’s the messed up part about religion… They don’t ever really forgive anyone. Perhaps it’s because whenever they wrong another person, instead of seeking that person’s forgiveness they just seek their imaginary friend’s forgiveness. It’s only a wonder that they don’t have any clue how to REALLY forgive someone. They forgive because they’re told to, not because they truly forgive the person (as if we should be seeking her forgiveness, try the other way around).

This is why an atheist’s morality is superior to that of a person who claims to draw their morals from the bible. If I do something good, it’s because I think that what I’m doing is good. When the religious person who gets their morals from the bible does something good, it’s because their trying to gain points. They didn’t really want to be good.

Video after the break of Shanna Moakler and Keith Lewis telling Ms. Prejean and N.O.M. how pathetic they are.

I’m firmly convinced that Bill O’Reilly is a giant douche. On the topic of gay marriage, he suggested that if you allow gay marriage it will lead to polygamy and then to allowing people to marry their turtle.

Right… because turtles can enter into a legal contract. Ass!

First off, the slippery slope argument is a weak one. If you have a problem with something, argue against it on the merits of the issue, not on what “could” or “may” happen if this bill gets passed.

You could argue slippery slope for any issue. “Oh you can’t allow F.E.M.A. aide, if you do that, people might come to expect it for personal disasters, then we’re paying out billions to for someone whose plumbing in their house went bad!”

It’s a stupid argument and he’s a stupid person for putting it forward. If the government is going to recognize any marriage, it needs to be for secular reasons. If they can find no good secular reasons as to why a person can’t marry more than one person, they should allow it.

For all the talking he did, I didn’t hear one rational argument for why poly-marriage would be a bad thing. Not ONE!

Moving on to the “Harvey Milk Day” issue he talks about…

Why the fuck not? We’re celebrating someone who fought for civil rights, not that he was gay. We have Martin Luther King day? Same shit!

Couldn’t you just see this asshole back in the 50′s picketing interracial marriage and Martin Luther King day? In my opinion he’s an idiot. The two blond scholars he was talking to didn’t help bring anything intelligent to the table either. Way to go there FOX!
